From Jessica: “My approach is to always seek the silver lining and see the best in people and in moments. Because my clients are the co-creators of their images, my number one priority is to listen and learn what my client’s vision is. My second goal is to put my clients at ease in front of the camera. Whether we are listening to your favorite music or chatting, I’m focused on you. Regarding my approach to portraiture, I prefer natural posing and I will help guide my clients to move in flattering ways in front of the camera.

Before your session

Prior to your photo session, I offer an optional appointment with you to learn what your goal for your photo shoot is. At that appointment, I also like to help you create a vision board so I can see what you have in mind for your photo shoot. Co-collaboration is important to me, but I do understand clients who want me to bring my vision to their shoot and I am comfortable leading the way. A big part of getting natural smiles and looking your absolute best in front of the camera is being comfortable with your photographer. This is one more reason why I value pre-session consultations: clients get to meet me before the shoot which helps put everyone at ease.

My Background

I have lived in Northern Virginia for over 17 years and settled in Loudoun County with my family in 2012. It’s a gorgeous place to call home! I published two magazines, NVSL Magazine and Loudoun County Magazine, the latter of which is available online. I am a proud mom to my two children, Annabelle and Levi, and I have been married to my handsome and dedicated husband Matthew for almost 15 years! What a ride! My education started with a Presidential scholarship to Southern Connecticut State University where I graduated with Departmental Honors in English, Thesis of the Year, and a Bachelor of Science in English and Education. While attending George Mason University for my Masters in English, I taught Adult Education through Fairfax County Public Schools, ESOL and Composition at Northern Virginia Community College. While attending graduate school, I became a hobbyist travel photographer. As many photographers tend to do, I acquired a portfolio and a great deal of equipment. Always a student at heart, I apprenticed in portrait photography between 2007 and 2009. I gained the courage in 2009 to open my own studio.
